Mind Body Therapies

Meditation, breathing exercises and guided imagery may aid relaxation, reduce stress and anxiety, and help patients and their families take their minds off from medical procedures.

Mind-body therapies are used to alleviate the side effects of cancer treatment as well as to promote a sense of general wellbeing in survivorship.

Sessions generally last five minutes to one hour, and may be complemented with audio sessions that patients can tune into on their own, building up their daily meditation practice. To set up a consult, please contact Michelle Bombacie at 212 305-9770 or by email at mb3579@cumc.columbia.edu.
